Welcome to Colwyn Bay's Premier Restaurant

No other restaurant/bistro on the North Wales Coast has a beach view like the Rhos Harbour Bistro.  It is unique in its location with unbridled views across the Irish Sea – the perfect moving picture of calmness and tranquility.

Built in the 1950's the Bistro, then known as Rhos Point Cafe, was established by a local entrepreneur called Charlie Payne. During the heyday of that time the cafe flourished and became a landmark for tourists and locals alike.

On the 27th March 2006, local businessman Neil Formstone took over the bistro, and began a series of major refurbishments culminating in the building of today which can accommodate 150 people. We have three seating areas to choose from. Inside, the Bistro, at the rear our Tea Garden with views across the Bay and at the front our Patio area. This choice means, whatever the weather, You can choose to sit in a variety of comfortable surroundings, relax and let us look after You.

During the last year we have undertaken and completed some major improvements to the Bistro. We have now totally re-floored the restaurant with stunning solid oak and have built in a new ramp to the upper seating area which now makes easy access for either wheelchair or pushchair users to enjoy our unique views across the Bay.

Rhos Harbour Bistro has two very separate personalities.

During the day, Monday to Friday 10am till 6pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am till 6pm, we are a Cafeteria providing a selection of meals and snacks using fresh meat and vegetables from local suppliers. Our Chefs take great pride in providing meals that really are, and taste, home cooked. Your meal is made for
You, individually and to order.  Our Coffee is freshly ground, we have a varied selection of Teas and other drinks and we are licensed to sell Alcohol.

Sunday is always a special day out whatever the time of year. Our Carvery now gives you another reason to come and visit us. Starting from noon until late afternoon we always offer a wide choice of meats, fresh local vegetables and delicious home made desserts to make your eating out experience memorable. Over the past few weeks we have established ourselves as the place for Sunday Lunch and booking your table is not just desirable it is now essential.

Here at the Bistro we understand the need to provide services for Families. We have child seats, both inside and out, and a special menu designed just for them. Instead of just the usual chips and beans we offer a variety of healthy options so you can choose a meal to suit Your Child or Children.

In the evening, from 6pm onwards (Please see opening hours for winter opening) , we are transformed into an idyllic candle lit oasis of pleasure. The Restaurant has been designed to be spacious with a raised area giving You stunning views across the sea. Whatever the time of day, as You sit here enjoying your meal, or just a coffee, You are only limited by your own imagination as to where you really are.

For the past few years this was only a seasonal business, open from May to October. This has changed and we are now open all year round.  Our regular customers asked us to do this as they say we provide an excellent service, friendly staff and a place they really feel welcome. If you want to see if they are right then drop in and see us and let us know if you agree.
